Привет! Welcome back to our newsletter! Our much awaited 3rd edition is here! If you missed our previous one, don't worry, click here to have a look.
The past month has been turbulent for the Eurasian region. Russia had its first elections after the invasion of Ukraine, and Moscow fell victim to its biggest terrorist attack since the Beslan School Siege in 2004. Our condolences are with the affected families. This month's edition articles analyse these events.
Also, we continue to follow the development of the war in Ukraine. This edition describes how Russia recruits soldiers from the Global South and the aftermath of a leaked phone conversation involving Germany’s military officials discussing the deployment of Taurus missiles in Ukraine.
But first, a short reflection on Professor Alexander Etkind's book presentation at KRI, and petroagression as a litmus test for future conflict.
Unraveling Connections: the Taurus and the Telephone Call
This installment will examine the aftermath of a leaked phone conversation involving some of Germany’s highest-ranking military officials discussing the deployment of Taurus missiles in Ukraine, and the broader implications on Europe's commitments to Ukraine.
